What’s the MonoDrain Access Unit For?

The MonoDrain Access Unit is manufactured form polymer concrete and is for gaining access to a run of MonoDrain for maintenance and cleaning, however, the access unit can also be used to create a 90° angle within a channel run.

PD100D Access Unit

ACO offer the PD100D Access Unit in all four standard depths:

PD100D 0.3J – 185mm deep overall (160mm invert)

PD100D 10.3J – 225mm deep overall (200mm invert)

PD100D 20.3J – 265mm deep overall (240mm invert)

PD100D 30.3J – 305mm deep overall (280mm invert)

A shallow version is also available:

PD100D Shallow – 135m deep overall (110mm invert)

PD150D Access Unit

ACO offer the PD150D Access Unit in all three standard depths:

PD150D 0.3J – 235mm deep overall (210mm invert)

PD150D 10.3J – 275mm deep overall (250mm invert)

PD150D 20.3J – 315mm deep overall (290mm invert)

All MonoDrain Access Units are available in three different colour finishes, Black, Grey and Natural.

MonoDrain Access Units have reduced metal components by incorporating an innovative thermoset plastic access cover. This access cover has a quick self-locking system, manufactured from stainless steel components, and provides a long-term solution to corroded access lids.

All MonoDrain are supplied with a vertical knock-out option, 110mm diameter for PD100D and 160mm diameter for PD150D, these allow for a vertical outlet connection directly onto PVC-U pipe.

MonoDrain Access Units are also provided with a side knock-out option, if removed these allow for the same depth of MonoDrain channel to be installed at 90° to the access unit, the channel simply “butts” up to the access unit and is sealed using either Sikaflex 11FC or Geocel 945 sealant.

How Often Is Access Required?

When installing a monolithic (one-piece) channel such as MonoDrain, ACO would recommend providing an access point approximately every 20m-25m to provide sufficient accessibility for post-installation maintenance and cleaning.
