How to Install MultiDrain?

Please refer to the attached ACO installation drawing number 21819.

To achieve a D400 load classification the MultiDrain channel should be laid into a concrete surround (minimum strength C20/25) with minimum thickness of 200mm x the full height of the channel less the “Y2” dimension (35mm maximum thickness of asphalt) if applicable.

The MultiDrain channel should be installed 3-6mm lower than the surrounding surface finish.

Please refer to the four specific installation details below for: Installation into Asphalt Pavement, Installation into Concrete Pavement, Installation into Block Pavement and Installation Adjacent to a Structure.

The polymer modified mortar referred to is readily available from most builder’s merchants, but this can be a standard sand and cement mix with a “SBR” additive.

The “Y” dimension referred to below indicates the full height of the channel.

For a watertight installation please use an appropriate sealant such as Sikaflex 11FC or Geocel 945 or similar to seal each joint between channel sections.
