Will the Channels Work if Installed Level?

Will the channels work if installed flat? Is a very frequently asked question, the simple answer is YES.

If you install our MultiDrain channels flat with a constant depth invert water will still drain to the outlet. Due to internal shape of the channel it only requires a minimal amount of water within the channel run for the water to build up a sufficient “head” and propel itself to the lowest, which should be the outlet.

WATER WILL ALWAYS FIND ITS’ WAY TO THE LOWEST POINT.

To improve the velocity of the water within the channels you might want to consider using either a “Sloping Invert” or “Stepped Invert” installation. Please refer to our article “Channel Invert Types” for further information.
