S Range S100 channels can be installed with three different invert types, Constant Depth, Sloping Invert or Stepped Invert.
1, Constant Depth Invert:
Refers to a linear drainage channel run consisting of channels which all have the same constant depth level invert, for example S100 S010 For further information regarding this type of installation please refer to our article “Will the Channels Work if Installed Level?” in the S Range section.
2, Sloping Invert:
This type of installation consists of S Range S100 channels with a built-in fall (slope). ACO manufacture sloping channels from S1 through to S30 so it is possible to have a continuous fall for a maximum of 30m. To create a 10m sloping invert run you could use any ten continuously numbered channels, such as S1 to S10 or S5 to S15. For further information regarding this type of installation please refer to our article “Why Install Sloping Channels?” in the S Range section.
3, Stepped Invert:
For a stepped invert channel installation you would utilise constant depth level invert channels of different depths to create a “staircase” where each step encourages the water to fall to the next depth, for example S100 S010 (166mm invert) to S100 S020 (226m invert) to S100 S030 (286mm invert) and on to outlet. To smooth the flow of water between the different steps ACO recommend using “step connectors” please refer to our article “What S100 Accessories Are Available?” in the S Range section for further details.
Please note, sloping channels are only available in our S100 range, S100 and S150 can both be installed as a Stepped Invert. If you are proposing to install either S200 or S300 these can only be installed as either Constant Depth Invert.
